WRITER. Apostle Peter
Reason. As the church is growing, dangerous people and doctrine are appearing, The letters of Peter, John and Jude were written to help the church recognise the false doctrines and teachings. The problem still exists today and we need to take in the warnings given in these books.
Peter’s message in this letter is to know and have a knowledge of God, Peter is not refering to just an intellectual understanding of the truth, though this is needed as well, Peter wants the reader to have a life in Christ as Jesus prayed in John 17:3, to "Know the true God , and Jesus Christ" The letter is broken up as follows:
